After a few months of continuous use, you may find that you'd like to condition the leather to restore its luster, and buff out any dry spots or scuffs. There are many leather conditioning products to choose from, but please note that adding an oil-based conditioner may darken the leather somewhat. Alternatively, if you'd like to limit the darkening, we recommend shopping for a conditioner that has limited a oil content!
We use our Ultimate Leather Conditioner in our workshop every day and typically notice minimal color changes on the majority of our smooth and pebbled leathers - please keep in mind this is not recommended for our brushed leathers! In our experience, most leathers will look a bit darker when you first apply the conditioner, but will return to the original color when dry. Of course, take care to use a reasonable amount, as a super heavy coat may have different effects on the leather.
If you are caring for a brushed leather we recommend using a soft brush to buff scratches and marks like in Kiwi’s Suede & Nubuck Care Kit.
